Healthcare
Informatics Organizations
- HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) is generally IT management focused, but does useful surveys of healthcare CIOs.
- The other, generally more academic group is AMIA (the American Medical Informatics Association) which also showcases smaller, and non-commercial systems at its annual conference.
- The Medical Record Institute has published a pretty good (if dated) book called The Computer-Based Patient Record. They tend to be academically focused also.
- The last of the bunch is CHIME, or the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. Their website is pretty thin.
- UC Davis has an applied medical informatics program.
