Here are some pictures of my stock seat vs. the new Sargent Cycle seat.

If you look at the outer corners you'll see the
stock seat (bottom picture) is a little thinner and less chunky at the
edges.
Also, the stock seat (left) has a little smoother fit and contours.
As you can see, the Sargent seat (left) is clearly wider than stock. What is a little less obvious is that with the "shelf" there is more rearward room.
The Sargent seat (bottom) has a much better finish on the underside, and
is unlikely to scratch your tank.
The aesthetics are up to you... (Sargent is on the bottom of both these
pix.)
